All required clinical education for entry into ACGME accredited fellowship programs must be completed in an ACGME-accredited residency program. The program must receive verification of each entering fellow’s level of competency in the required field using ACGME Milestones assessments from the core residency program (CPR III.A.2).

Through a properly structured and closely monitored/evaluated multidisciplinary education and training program of carefully selected residents, the pain medicine division will improve provision of quality care, relationships between pain medicine care providers and the patients and patients’ families.
The Pain Medicine Fellowship begins with an intensive didactic program to prepare the fellow with basic knowledge on anatomy, pain syndromes, conservative treatments, and interventional procedures.
Fellows assigned to the outpatient pain management offices will have daily schedules which will be assigned prior to the beginning of the month.
The Northwell/SPNY program blossomed out of the SPNY non-ACGME accredited fellowship program, which was a well-respected program of its type.
Dr. Kiran serves both as the Program Director for our Multidisciplinary Pain Medicine Fellowship and as the Director of Neurosurgical Pain Management at Lenox Hill Hospital. She completed her anesthesiology residency as well as her interventional pain management fellowship at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in NY, NY. She is board certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine.
